MANILA, Philippines- “I’m a blessed woman!”
This was how Yeng Constantino describe her
status right now with her blooming career and love life.
Yeng is now at the peak of her career, with
more projects than she could ask for, among these is the regional tour of the
“BY Request” concert with Bamboo Mañalac.
After the success of their August concert,
the two OPM idols will bring their concert to Cebu City on Febryary 7, Davao
City on March 8 and Baguio on March 16.
“Ang sarap lang sa feeling na parang wish
granted for them,” Yeng said about the upcoming regional concerts in an
interview on Tuesday afternoon.
“And bagay na bagay din sa title ng show
namin, By Request, talagang ni-request nila na dalhin namin ‘yong show do’n,”
she added.
Yeng said that unlik their August concert, they
will have a different line up of songs for the regional tour.
“May ibang kanta do’n na pop songs last year
na hindi na masyadong popular songs ngayon. Siguro magdadagdag kami ng
sari-sarili naming materials ni Bamboo,” Yeng relates.
Happy heart
Though busy with her career, Yeng still
manages to maintain a good relationship with her boyfriend Victor Asuncion.
She said that she finds a way to balance her
work and her love life.
“Kapag mahal mo may paraan lagi, eh. Parang
hindi siya something na ini-effort lang. Ewan ko, siguro dahil bago pa lang
kami, pero hindi mahirap," she said. “Kapag mahal mo ‘yong person gagawa
ka at gagawa ng paraan."
And though they’ve only been together for
seven months, Yeng says they’ve already talked about marriage.
“Gano’n kami mag-isip,” she explained. “Ako
as a person gano’n ang panata ko sa buhay, e, na ‘pag may relationship ka dapat
mag purpose dapat ‘yong relationship mo. Siguro dahil conservative ang family
namin kaya gano’n kami pinalaki ng magulang namin.”
Yet, she was quick to clarify that the
marriage won’t happen anytime soon because of her booming career.
“Ang good thing sa boyfriend ko naiintindihan
niya,” she proudly relates. “Kasi gano’n din ang mindset niya, e, ‘kapag
nag-girlfriend ako iyon na.’ Hintay-hintay lang, wala pa kaming definite
na time. Pero ‘yon ang purpose ng relationship namin.”
On pre-marital sex
Yeng and Victor met each other in their
Church as they are both Christians.
With their faith and the two of them coming
from conservative families, there’s one important rule that they follow: they
will not engage in pre-marital sex.
“Kasi naniniwala ako na once mag-move ka na
in to physical intimacy sobrang magbabago na ‘yong relationship ‘nyo. It’s
another level that you have to save, for me, that’s for me,” she explained.
She said she believes that waiting for the
right time to have sex would also prove their love for each other.
